The Group has come to life 14 years ago what gives the feeling of great understanding between all four musicians.
Joe Fonda - a double bass player, composer, producer. He works for his own projects and regulary cooperates with such stars as: Archie Shepp, Ken McIntyre, Lou Donaldson, Kenny Barron, Leo Smith, Perry Robinson, Dave Douglas, Curtis Fuller, Mark Whitecage, Marion Brown, Bill Dixon. For over 15 years Fonda was a member of Anthony Braxton`s sextette, octet and tentet. He is one of the most talented bass players of jazz avant garde.

Michael Jefry Stevens - a member of legendary "Mosaic Sextette" - with Dave Douglas, Mark Feldman (violin), Michael Rabinowitz (bassoon), Harvey Sörgen (drums), Joe Fonda (bass). Their rhythm section was a basis for The Fonda/ Stevens Group. The band published 8 CDs and often toured in Europe. This is one of the most important jazz groups on international scene.

Herb Robertson - an exploring multi-instrumentalist, composer and organizer for classic, jazz avant garde and new music. In 1985-1992 he was a leading musician for JMT label in Munich (Germany). Five albums is the result of 7 years of cooperation. Robertson, as a solist and guest musician, was often invited for many important jazz and new music projects. He cooperated with Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton, Gerry Hemingway, Steva Lacy, Paul Bley, Horace Tapscott.

Harvey Sorgen belongs to the most valuable drums players in New York City. He is also a major producer, pedagogue and composer. Sorgen cooperated and recorded with such talents as: Ahmad Jamal, Dewey Redman, Dave Douglas, Mark Feldman, Steve Swell, Anthony Braxton, Roswell Rudd, Jack Dejohnette or Bill Frisell.
